A Simple Christmas

It’s that time of year!!!  I absolutely love Christmas and everything that it brings.  Okay, maybe not the freezing weather, but everything else?  Love!

This year I made bigger wreaths for my windows and covered them in silver and red balls.

I wrapped the posts in garland (my favorite reason for even having porch posts), channeling my inner Pottery Barn copy-cat.

I also whipped up some wood boxes to hold two little Christmas trees.

diy advent calender

When you walk into my home, you first see this rustic, DIY advent calendar.  Two years in a row and I still have not filled the little bags!

simple Christmas decorating This year I kept the decorating pretty simple.  Each year I want to go all out and fill each room with Christmas fun, but each year, simple seems to be the name of the game.

The driftwood shelves are still empty.  Some day I will get pictures on them…I think.

I have realized that I seem to love antlers.  Not hunting, just antlers.

Only once have I found the antler on the ground after my dog stole it for a chew toy.

For years I have coveted illuminated wreaths, and this year I finally took the plunge and made them.  I love them:)  My husband asked why I have the light timers set to come back on in the early morning.  It’s so I can see the house all lit up when I leave for work in the morning, of course!

I may be adding a few more simple Christmas decorations here and there, but this year is all about simplicity.

This year I’m linking up with Jennifer Rizzo  and Nesting Place– – be sure to check out her blog for dozens of houses decorated in Christmas glory!!
